Hi. This will seem like a slightly strange message but my friends and I were the "assistants" in Blois ten years ago and are coming over to Blois for an anniversary weekend at Easter. I spotted your blog whilst searching for the details of Le Castelet restaurant. Funnily enough I don't think Blois has changed a great deal in the intervening years but I would be intrigued to hear if you have any good bar recommendations. I spotted some of those very large cocktails on your photos which suggest that La Route du Rhum might still be open...
Anyway, hope you are having fun in Blois. I made some of my best friends during my year there.
Hi Cath, good to hear from another assistant! The large cocktails come from "Le Singe Vert," they're nice and big, but for atmosphere I'd recommend "Ben's Blues Bar" hands down. It's practically across the street from "Le Castelet," so you know where that is!
:) Have fun in Blois over Easter! I'll be out of town, otherwise I'd say join us for a drink some night!
