?

Hmm. Just pondering the irony of my blog title, given that I'm going to France. Ah well. They probably wouldn't let me teach English in England.

Handing over HARRR

Today I was cleaning out my car--so that it would be nice and spiffy for Lauren, who's babysitting for seven months--and then I had a little flash realization that yes, this is happening. In three days, I'm going to wave good-bye to my parents at the little Akron/Canton airport. It feels weird to see the trees changing and know that I won't see our maple in the backyard go all fiery red. France better have that bonfire smell that means autumn.

A house!

So a couple days ago, my contact person emailed me about a house available for language assistants. Got some more info, and it looks to be a 4-bedroom, 2-bath house halfway between the center of town and my school. Talk about AMAZING. It's 280 euros a month, which doesn't sound too bad, especially if I can apply for the CAF. O and it's going to be furnished! I accepted it. So no scouring of ads, no fumbling through negotations with landlords. My housemates will be two girls from England and one girl from Columbia, all assistants at various school in Blois.

Loving life, and the way things work out.
